Dr. Rod Langel
Born and raised in Northwestern Iowa, Dr. Rod Langel, a proud graduate of Iowa State University and Palmer College of Chiropractic moving to West Des Moines, Iowa in 1994 to begin his private practice providing Chiropractor care with a desire to help people live better and healthier lives.
Beginnings
Dr. Rod Langel was born and raised in Northwest Iowa. He attended and graduated from Iowa State University with a Bachelor of Science degree from the College of Agri-Business with an emphasis in Sales/Marketing and Finance. After working in his field of study for two years, he continued his education at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. He graduated from Palmer College in 1994 and then moved to West Des Moines, Iowa, to start his private practice and providing Chiropractic care to West Des Moines and it’s surrounding areas. Dr. Langel is married and has three sons.
Commitment To Education
As a chiropractor, Dr. Langel is trained in a diverse array of Chiropractic Techniques to meet his patients’ individual needs. These Techniques include Gonstead, Diversified, Thompson Drop, Activator, Prone Adjusting, Contact Reflex Analysis, and Total Body Modification. He also offers a wide range of health care methods to treat and strengthen his patients, including Physiotherapies, Therapeutic Exercises, Class II Erchonia Laser Therapy, Foot Levelers Stabilizing Orthotics, Pulsed Magnetic Therapy, and Nutritional Counseling. Dr. Langel’s practice is filled with patients that range in age from infants to grandparents and everyone in between. His practice is predominately a family practice and he cares for those in personal injury and worker compensation cases, too.
Community Involvement
Dr. Langel has been active in his community, having served as the President of the Kiwanis of West Des Moines and past President of the Des Moines Metro Business League. He served as the Cub Master for Pack 88 Cub Scouts of St. Francis of Assisi and Scout Master for Boy Scout Troop 888 of St. Francis of Assisi in West Des Moines. Dr. Langel is an active member at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and with the Knights of Columbus.
After moving to West Des Moines, he immediately became a full-time member of the Iowa Chiropractic Society (ICS). He accepted the leadership position of Vice President of the South Central District in 1996. Until 2005, he served on numerous other leadership positions with the ICS and eventually was elected ICS President 2005-2006. He continues to be an active member today, promoting the profession to provide better patient health care.Enjoying Life
When not caring for patients, you will find him on the road attending continuing education programs to learn what is new to better care for his patients.
Dr. Langel also enjoys spending time with his family and friends, traveling, reading, boating, being outdoors, hiking, skiing-both downhill and water, cooking, riding his motorcycle or driving his street rod.
