Meet the Chiropractor


ABOUT DR. LANGEL

Dr. Rod Langel was born and raised in Northwest Iowa. He attended and graduated from Iowa State University with a Bachelor of Science degree from the College of Agri-Business with emphasis in Sales/Marketing and Finance. After working in his field of study for two years he then continued his education at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. He graduated from Palmer College in 1994 and then moved to West Des Moines, Iowa to start his private practice as a Chiropractor. He is married and has three sons.

As a chiropractor, Dr. Langel is trained in a diverse array of Chiropractic Techniques to meet the individual needs of his patients. These Techniques include: Gonstead, Diversified, Thompson Drop, Activator, Prone Adjusting, Contact Reflex Analysis and Total Body Modification. He also offers a wide range of health care methods to treat, heal and strengthen his patients including: Physiotherapies, Therapeutic Exercises, Class II Erchonia Laser Therapy, Foot Levelers Stabilizing Orthotics, Pulsed Magnetic Therapy, Muscle Testing, and Nutritional Counseling. Dr. Langel’s practice is filled with patients that range in ages from infants to grandparents and everyone in between. His practice is predominately a family practice, but also cares for those in personal injury and workers compensation cases.

Dr. Langel has been active in his community serving as the President of the Kiwanis of West Des Moines and Past President of the Des Moines Metro Business League. He has been actively involved in Boy Scouts since 2007. He served as the Cub Master for Pack 88 Cub Scouts of St. Francis of Assisi and Scout Master for Boy Scout Troop 888 of St. Francis of Assisi in West Des Moines. Dr. Langel is an active member at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and with the Knights of Columbus.

After moving to West Des Moines, he immediately became a full time member of the Iowa Chiropractic Society (ICS) and accepted the leadership position of Vice President of the South Central District in 1996. From then, until 2005, he served on numerous other leadership positions with the ICS and eventually was elected ICS President 2005-2006. He continues to be an active member today, promoting the profession for the betterment of patient health care.

When not caring for patients, you will find him on the road attending continuing education programs to learn what is new to better care for his patients.

Dr. Langel also enjoys spending time with his family and friends, traveling, reading, boating, being outdoors, hiking, skiing-both downhill and water, cooking and singing. Lastly, his roots are still embedded in agriculture and he enjoys getting back on the farm as often as he can.
