About Dr. Langel

Dr. Rod Langel was born and raised in northwest IA.  He attended and graduated from Iowa State University with a Bachelor of Science degree from the college of Agri-business with emphasis in sales/marketing and finance. After working in his field of study for two years he then continued his education at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, IA.  He graduated from Palmer College in 1994 and then moved to West Des Moines, IA to start his private practice as a Chiropractor. 

 

He is married and has three young boys.

 

As a chiropractor, he uses a mix of techniques including: Gonstead, Diversified, Thompson Drop, Activator, Applied Kinesiology, Total Body Modification, Contact Reflex Analysis and Prone adjusting to care for his patients.  His practice is filled with patients that range in ages from infants to grandparents and everyone in between.  His practice operates predominately as a family practice, but also cares for those in personal injury and workers compensation cases.

 

He has been active in his community serving as the President of the Kiwanis of West Des Moines, Social Chairperson, Scholarship Chairman and Past President of the Des Moines Metro Business League.  He continues to be an active member with the Des Moines Metro Business League. Currently he is the Cubmaster for Pack 88 Cub Scouts of St. Francis of Assisi and has since 2007-2009.  He is an active member at St. Francis of Assisi and with the Knights of Columbus where he is also a fourth degree member. 

 

While a student at Palmer College, he was instrumental in reactivating the Iowa Club and was a member of the Iowa Chiropractic Society (ICS) as a student member.  After moving to West Des Moines, he immediately became a full time member of the ICS and accepted the position as of Vice President for the South Central District from 1996-1997.  He served as the SC District President from 1997-1998 and then accepted the office of SC District Director from 2000-2001.  During the years of 2001-2004 he served on the ICS Executive Committee in the following positions:  2nd Vice President/Treasurer, 1st Vice President and President Elect.  Then was elected President of the ICS in 2004-2005 and then served as the Past President from 2005-2006.  He has also served as a committee member to the ICS Legislative Committee, Doctor to Doctor Committee and Peer Review Committees.  He continues to be an active member today with the ICS. 

 

When not caring for patients or attending school or sporting functions for his family you will find him traveling to learn new information to better care for his patients.  He is now a life time member of Pinnacle management and speaks for them at times throughout the United States. 

 

In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his family and friends, travels, reads, boats, fishes, ski--both down hill and water, cooks, singing karaoke and being outdoors.  He also enjoys taking hikes with kids to explain to them what the outdoors has to offer and what they might find when they look and listen.  Lastly, his roots are still embedded in agriculture and he still enjoys getting dirty back on the farm as often as he can.
